A beautiful introduction to the course, this palm tree and coquina rock lined hole offers a birdie chance to players keeping the ball in the fairway. Those misplacing a tee shot will find more difficulty when playing to this well situated raised green. Those who struggle when playing from bunkers will love this hole, as there is no sand in sight.

For as simple as the opening hole is, the second hole offers a far stiffer challenge. This long par five winds around trees and wetlands and great care must be taken if you wish to play the hole using only one ball. Relief from the danger on this signature hole may only be found when safely on the bunker guarded green.

Another short par four but don’t think that you will have things easy here. The key is a well-placed tee shot over the marsh sitting to the front and right of the fairway. The approach is not one for the faint of heart as a pond and its bulkhead sit flush against the front of this green. Although the bunkers, filled with gleaming white angular sand, resemble the sun kissed beaches of the Caribbean, there is little fun to be found in these newly refinished traps.

Number four is the second par five in the opening four holes. This hole offers a great chance of birdie to those who safely negotiate the lake looming to the left of the fairway. The hole winds around the lake to the left and then back to the right where a green well guarded by bunkers sits.

The first of the par threes is a beautiful hole with water guarding the green to the front and left. Getting on the green here is only half the battle as players are faced with a sloping two tiered green.

Players will enjoy the unique island teeing ground on this dogleg par four. Water must be cleared from the tee before players are faced with a tough shot to a slightly raised and narrow green. A bunker sits waiting for errant shots to the right of the green.

This hole winds around to the left making it play longer than the yardage. The green is set amongst trees and palmettos and any shot not finding the target will leave little chance of escaping with a par.

Any player will find it difficult not to be intimidated by the water that reaches from tee to green down the right side of this hole. Players must take the challenge head on, as there is no relief on the left side where dense palmettos and a bunker await any shot not struck straight down the middle.

The front nine winds to a close with a beautiful par three framed with both pine and palm trees. A big green is protected by deep bunkers to the front and left. A par here will send any player to the half way house happy.

The back nine begins with a tee shot out a shoot of trees to a very generous fairway. Only the strongest of players will have the chance to clear the water in front of this green and get home in two shots. For most a simple lay-up and then a shot onto the green is the norm. The bowl shaped green can often work for you as balls collect towards a front pin but a back pin can be devilishly tough.

This short par four once again favors accuracy over distance. The newly enlarged green will see more players find the putting surface but will offer a greater test to the putter.

This hole will see the most dramatic change from the summer restoration project. Previously the green could be found with a short iron but now with twenty extra yards players must reach for a longer iron to reach this tricky two tiered green.

An extension to the back of this tee will offer a few more yards to this narrow little par three. With a wide yet shallow sloping green, club selection is very important. Going over the green is not an option as dense woodland awaits.

This hole is the signature hole on the inward nine. A par five with water flanking the entire left side, this hole can be reached in two by the longer hitters but when laying up care must be taken to find a safe route to the green. Getting the ball close on the approach can be difficult as this green is long and narrow and has a false front.

The tee on this hole has been moved further left in order to force players to carry the water to the green. The new tee also offers players a better view of the green. Seasonal windy conditions can make this a very challenging hole where nothing other than hitting the green will do.

Getting close to the green on this short par four is not difficult, getting on the green causes most people problems. A raised and shallow two-tiered green with a deep bunker protecting the front can turn this hole from a birdie chance into a bogey very quickly.

A hole worthy of a place on any golf course, the seventeenth hole offers little hope to those looking for an easy finish. A generous landing area lies ahead from the tee but a narrow green flanked by a rock wall and hazard below make it a difficult approach for any level of player. This gem of a hole has derailed many a good round.

The second of two great finishing holes, water must be negotiated both from the tee and on the approach. A raised green fronted by a deep bunker make players work hard right to the very end. Players who look at the yardage of this course and think they are in for an easy day will be surprised when they take a look back at their scorecards.
